This highperformance locating device delivers reliable detection for buried power cables, CATV cables, gas pipelines, water supply pipes, sewer lines, telephone communication cables, sheathed fiber optic cables, sondes as well as inspection camera transmitters, covering most common underground assets encountered in utility maintenance, construction excavation and site investigation projects.
Working on the principle of signal transmission and signal reception, the complete system consists of two core units: the Transmitter and the Receiver. The Transmitter emits stable, adjustable tracing signals onto target underground utilities either through direct connection or inductive coupling. Once the signal is coupled onto the buried asset, the handheld Receiver picks up and interprets the transmitted signal with high sensitivity and antiinterference capability. By tracking the variation of the tracing signal output from the Receiver, field operators can precisely trace the routing and pinpoint the relative position of the buried utility, sonde or inspection camera underground.
This locating workflow enables technicians to identify underground asset paths, mark surface position markers, avoid accidental utility damage during digging operations, and support efficient preexcavation survey work. Proper operation of transmitter signal output settings and receiver sensitivity adjustment will further improve locating accuracy even under harsh site conditions with dense overlapping underground lines.
